Job Description

Job Title: Senior Electronic Design Engineer
Location: Bristol (Hybrid Working - 3 Days On-Site Per Week)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus & Benefits (Depending on Experience)

Role Overview:

Zenovo are looking for an Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join their client in Bristol, focusing on New Product Development as well as updating and maintaining existing systems.

The ideal candidate will enjoy getting to the root of complex technical problems, thinking creatively and working across both hardware and embedded software, making this an interesting and technically demanding role.

There will also be opportunities to work on the integration of new third-party modules and investigate system-level issues such as electrical noise and power supply interference.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electronic systems for new products.
  • Create schematics, PCB layouts, and test fixtures.
  • Test and validate new designs, making improvements where needed.
  • Work with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to introduce new products into production.
  • Support and improve existing electronic products through troubleshooting, testing, and redesign.
  • Manage component obsolescence by identifying suitable replacement parts and updating designs.
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and engineering developments to support product improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and management teams, with occasional international travel as required.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Ideally 5+ years of commercial electronics engineering & electronic design experience.
  • Strong electronics troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to engineering.
  • Experience using laboratory test equipment.
  • Good understanding of embedded systems, with embedded C experience desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Comfortable working across both hardware and software.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
