Job Description

CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERS – SCOPE OF WORK

San Antonio, TX

Background

International in San Antonio, Texas, is requiring mid-term construction engineering support. The selected candidate will support the San Antonio Facility construction team in assigned construction projects. Support is expected to begin in August 2026 for an initial one-year term, with an option to extend for an additional six months.

Requirements

  1. Contractor to provide a one mid-term support Construction Engineer to provide daily support for Internation Facility in San Antonio Texas.  Contractors are expected to work on site 4 days/week.  Standard workdays are 7am to 5:30 pm, 4 days a week. On occasion may need to work after hours, Fridays and Weekends to support major project activities.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering.
  3. Deep knowledge of construction methodologies, building materials, and blueprint reading.
  4. Experience with construction management software (e.g., MS Project).
  5. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar tools.
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Engineer provided must have a minimum of 2-7 years’ experience in industrial or commercial construction.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Design and Plan Reviews: They evaluate technical drawings and 3D models to ensure blueprints are physically buildable. They design temporary on-site structures, such as scaffolding and concrete formwork, needed during assembly.
  2. Project Scheduling and Coordination: They create comprehensive timelines and coordinate resource allocation. This ensures subcontractors, suppliers, and machinery arrive exactly when needed to prevent workflow delays.
  3. Quality Control and Inspection: They conduct field checks to verify that building materials match required specifications. They ensure all completed work adheres strictly to local building codes, structural standards, and design plans.
  4. Budgeting and Cost Management: They calculate project expenses, prepare material cost estimates, and manage on-site funds. They handle change orders when plans shift to minimize financial risk.
  5. On-Site Safety Supervision: They implement rigorous safety protocols and complete routine hazard assessments. This protects field workers, the surrounding community, and the local environment.
