Job Description
A growing, privately owned organization is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting to lead its accounting function while serving as a strategic financial partner to ownership and senior leadership. This role goes beyond reporting the numbers—the right person will understand what is driving financial performance and provide clear recommendations around profitability, capital allocation, growth, and risk.

What You’ll Do
Lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management
Translate operational performance into meaningful financial insights and recommendations
Evaluate capital investments, expansions, acquisitions, financing alternatives, and other business opportunities
Develop financial models, ROI analyses, forecasts, and scenario analyses
Identify profitability drivers, cost trends, financial risks, and opportunities
Lead and develop the accounting team while strengthening accountability and financial controls
Partner with operational leaders to improve business performance
Drive improvements across financial systems, reporting, automation, and processes
Manage relationships with banks, lenders, CPAs, and other outside advisors
Qualifications
7-10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience preferred
Experience leading an accounting or finance function
Strong financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical capabilities
Broad understanding of accounting, financial reporting, cash flow, and internal controls
Experience with capital planning, banking, debt, and financing arrangements
Ability to connect operational performance to financial results
Experience in agriculture, livestock, manufacturing, food production, multi-location operations, family-owned businesses, or other asset-intensive environments is highly valued
Strong business judgment with an entrepreneurial, ownership-oriented mindset
CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred but not required
