Personal Banker

Position Summary
The Personal Banker is responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships by identifying financial needs and recommending appropriate banking products and services. This role combines customer service, sales, and basic financial guidance while ensuring compliance with all Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications
Education
~ High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience
~ Minimum of two (2) years of related banking, retail sales, customer service, or financial services experience preferred.

Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Ability to establish trust and rapport through professional, needs-based conversations. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong active listening skills. Ability to clearly explain banking products and services to customers. Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate financial solutions. High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing transactions and documentation.

Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced branch environment. Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Adaptability to changing systems, products, and regulations. Proficiency with banking technology, online banking platforms, and Microsoft Office applications. Understanding of banking compliance requirements, including BSA/AML regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service and Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive outreach, including telephone and in-person interactions. Identify customer financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services. Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving service issues, and assisting with account maintenance and electronic banking services. Assist customers in obtaining specialized services from other Bank departments and follow through to ensure customer satisfaction.

Sales and Business Development
Participate actively in the Bank's business development and sales initiatives. Meet individual and branch performance goals related to deposits, consumer products, and referrals. Identify opportunities for cross-selling and referrals to other departments, including lending, trust, and investment services. Support consumer lending activities by identifying opportunities, assisting with applications, and facilitating appropriate referrals.

Account Opening and Maintenance
Open and maintain consumer deposit accounts, including checking, savings, certificates of deposit, and related products. Ensure all account documentation and point-of-sale processing are accurate and complete. Maintain thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, and procedures. Branch Operations
Work collaboratively with branch management and team members to achieve branch goals and objectives. Coordinate work activities with branch personnel and other departments to ensure efficient operations and a positive customer experience.

Provide timely and accurate sales and service activity information for reports and performance tracking. Serve as a Teller when required and within established training and competency levels. Respond to customer and employee inquiries within established service standards and Bank policies. Reporting and Compliance
Report information to supervisors as requested and provide data to appropriate Bank personnel.

Adhere to all Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including

Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations
Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements
Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)
Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA)
Other applicable banking regulations
Attendance
Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Work schedules and hours are determined by management and may be modified based on organizational needs. Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
