Job Description

Our client, a leading independent capital markets and strategic advisory platform, is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its growing team in New York. The group advises corporate clients on a broad range of financing and capital structure solutions, providing strategic advice and transaction execution support across debt and other capital raising initiatives.

This opportunity offers significant exposure to complex financing transactions, direct interaction with senior bankers and clients, and the ability to work across a diverse range of industries and capital structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage key workstreams across live transactions and client engagements from initial analysis through execution and closing
  • Develop financial analyses, capital structure assessments, financing alternatives, and supporting materials for client decision-making
  • Prepare client presentations, marketing materials, and transaction documentation
  • Analyze financial statements, credit profiles, debt structures, and relevant market data
  • Conduct company, industry, comparable transaction, and capital markets research
  • Coordinate transaction processes, including due diligence, financing source outreach, documentation, and stakeholder management
  • Manage transaction timelines and deliverables to support efficient execution
  • Review and mentor junior team members, providing guidance throughout transaction processes
  • Participate in client meetings and take an active role in managing client and counterparty relationships
  • Support team initiatives, process improvements, and business development efforts

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of investment banking, debt capital markets, leveraged finance, private credit, or other relevant transaction experience
  • Demonstrated experience executing financing transactions and managing transaction workstreams
  • Strong financial modeling, credit analysis, and capital structure expertise
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Experience reviewing and developing junior professionals
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, PitchBook, Capital IQ, or similar financial databases
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights
  • FINRA licensing (Series 79 and 63) or willingness to obtain licenses upon joining
This opportunity provides:
  • Exposure to a broad range of financing transactions and capital markets advisory assignments
  • Direct access to senior leadership and client-facing responsibilities
  • Opportunity to work across multiple industries rather than specializing in a single sector
  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative culture with meaningful growth and advancement opportunities
  • Strong platform with an established reputation in the capital markets advisory space
