Data Center Infrastructure & Automation Engineer

Contract to Perm opening for a Data Center Infrastructure & Automation Engineer to own enterprise physical server platforms across multiple data centers. This role focuses on server hardware, firmware, Windows/Linux operating systems, and automation.

(Hybrid Schedule in Fort Worth, TX)

Responsibilities

• Manage server lifecycle activities, including provisioning, maintenance, refreshes, and decommissioning.

• Build automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to standardize operations and reduce manual work.

• Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, BIOS/UEFI, driver, and operating system issues.

• Monitor server health and automate failure detection, triage, and escalation.

• Coordinate hardware repairs with vendors, remote hands, and data center teams.

• Maintain infrastructure standards, documentation, and support runbooks.

Required Skills

• 10+ years supporting enterprise server infrastructure in large-scale production environments.

• Strong server hardware, firmware, BIOS/UEFI, driver, and OS kernel knowledge.

• Experience supporting Windows and Linux server environments.

• Strong automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Go, C#, or similar languages.

• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Bicep, or comparable tools.

• Hands-on server lifecycle management, hardware troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.

Preferred

• Dell iDRAC, HPE iLO, Lenovo XClarity, or similar platforms.

• Automated remediation, ITSM integrations, Git, and CI/CD experience.

• Relevant infrastructure certifications.
