Job Description

Job Title: Android Full Stack Engineer (Platform Stability)

Location: Dearborn MI

Type: Long Term Contract

Job Description:

Strong hands-on experience in Android Platform/Framework development with strong Kotlin, Java, and C++ skills.
Diagnose, debug, and resolve complex Android platform stability and reliability issues across the System and Vendor partitions and Treble boundary.
Design and develop middleware, Android background/foreground services, and feature-rich interfaces using AIDL, Binder, and APIs.
Deep expertise in AOSP source code, including reverse engineering, debugging, source-level analysis, and modifications.
Troubleshoot system_server components including Activity Manager, Window Manager, Package Manager, as well as Car Service and SurfaceFlinger.
Resolve critical issues including black screens, boot failures, ANRs, crashes, and difficult-to-reproduce platform problems.
Perform root-cause analysis and provide technical direction for ambiguous, complex, and high-impact stability issues.
Resolve Android upgrade, platform integration, and release migration issues across Android versions.
Experience working across the full Android stack, including Framework, Native Services, HAL, and Vendor layers.
Hands-on experience with CTS, VTS, ATS, and STS compliance testing and failure resolution.
Strong understanding of Android graphics/display subsystems, partition architecture, and Soong/Make build systems.
Proficiency with native debugging and performance tools such as GDB, LLDB, Perfetto, Systrace, and Logcat.
Preferred: Android Automotive OS (AAOS), Car Service, automotive/embedded Android, SoC/silicon vendor integration, and platform bring-up experience.
