Senior Business Analyst

seeking a senior-level Business Analyst to work on multiple software projects supporting the agency’s mission of improving outcomes for Texas students, with a focus on major application enhancements and/or rewrite efforts. This position will serve as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team and will be involved throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC). After the requirements baseline is established, the BA will manage the requirements specification and verify that all requirements are fulfilled, including requirements for post-implementation enhancements.

The Business Analyst will analyze user needs, business processes, pain points, and system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems. Requirements elicitation will include joint application development (JAD), interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis. The BA will transform information from elicitation sessions into clear business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements specification documents, wireframes, and mockups using standard templates and clear, concise language.

This individual will also help promote BA best practices and mentor peers and colleagues. TEA tools including Atlassian Jira and Modern Requirements will be used to manage change control, participate in the SDLC, and track and communicate requirements status.
