Job Title: Kafka Engineer Developer

Job Description:

Value Technology is looking for a seasoned Kafka Developer with strong experience in distributed messaging platforms, particularly Apache Kafka. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building, managing, and optimizing Kafka platforms within large-scale, complex enterprise environments. You will work closely with architecture, development, and operations teams to ensure smooth integration, scalability, and security of data streaming pipelines in a financial services setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8 to 10+ years of IT experience in enterprise systems development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kafka platform (3 to 8+ years).
• Experience with Kubernetes-based deployments (1 to 3 years), especially OpenShift or Amazon EKS.
• Familiarity with other messaging platforms like IBM MQ is a plus.
• Experience working with ITIL frameworks and incident tracking systems.
• Ability to write technical documentation in a structured development environment.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Kafka platform issues across the lifecycle from build to retirement.
• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance, scalable Kafka-based solutions.
• Provide consultation and contribute to logical program designs, stable application systems, and Kafka-centric software solutions.
• Drive automation, monitoring, and deployment best practices.
• Support systems integration and performance testing for enterprise applications.
• Mentor junior developers and support teams on Kafka best practices and development lifecycles.
• Lead engineering excellence initiatives, improving performance and reliability of Kafka infrastructure.
• Guide the transition to high-level architecture for scalable and secure event-driven solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Skill set must: Kafka, Java, Data base, bachelor’s degree in computer science, CIS, or a related field.
• 8 to 10+ years of software development, database technologies.
• Proven experience implementing solutions through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
