Principal Systems Engineer | Chichester, United Kingdom | On-site | Up to £58,000 + 10% bonus

The Role

  • Apply Systems Thinking to understand problem spaces, manage constraints, and balance trade-offs.
  • Manage requirements, including capturing, decomposing, and agreeing them, while maintaining traceability.
  • Champion Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) by modelling system behaviour, structure, and interfaces.
  • Apply Problem Decomposition & Complexity Management to break down multi-domain challenges.
  • Contribute to Lifecycle Delivery & Systems Integration, tailoring processes and planning integration.
  • Provide technical leadership, act as a technical authority, and mentor engineers.

What You'll Need

  • Strong experience applying systems engineering across the lifecycle, including requirements management, architecture definition, integration, MBSE, and V&V.
  • Experience with high-level design methodologies (e.g., UAF, NAF, TOGAF, SysML, UML) and practical MBSE capability using tools like Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience using requirements and interface management toolsets (e.g., DOORS).
  • Knowledge of applying Systems Engineering standards and principles, such as ISO 15288.
  • Exposure to system integration and verification activities.
  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in a STEM or systems-related discipline, working towards CEng or operating at that level.
