Mandatory Skills Required:

Strong Health Payer experience.
3+ years in a Power BI architecture or lead role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement scalable, governed Power BI solutions that enable self-service reporting across business domains.
  • Define and enforce best practices for dataset design, semantic modeling, and report development.
  • Design enterprise data models (star/snowflake schemas) that balance usability and performance for self-service consumers.
  • Establish a centralized semantic layer using Power BI datasets, dataflows, and shared models.
  • Develop governance frameworks including:
    • Data certification and endorsement processes
    • Workspace strategy and access controls
    • Naming conventions and metadata standards
  • Enable and mentor business users on Power BI capabilities, data literacy, and report development best practices.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure optimal data ingestion, transformation, and storage strategies.
  • Design and implement row-level security (RLS) and data access policies aligned with enterprise security requirements.
  • Optimize performance of large-scale datasets and reports (import, DirectQuery, composite models).
  • Lead BI tool integration within the broader data ecosystem (e.g., Azure, data warehouse, APIs).
  • Evaluate and implement CI/CD pipelines and version control for Power BI artifacts.
  • Drive adoption of self-service analytics while preventing data silos and report sprawl.
  • Provide architectural oversight and technical leadership across BI initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Power BI Service, Desktop, and Administration
    • DAX and advanced data modeling
    • Power BI Lakehouse.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing self-service BI frameworks.
  • Advanced knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale relational and analytical databases.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance and security practices.
  • Strong understanding of BI performance optimization techniques.
  • Proven experience enabling and scaling self-service analytics across organizations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of data cataloging and lineage tools (e.g., Purview).
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300, DP-500).
