Full Stack Engineer, AI systems

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is searching for a Full Stack Engineer - AI Systems for a Remote Full Time assignment with one of our premier Artificial Intelligence / Technology clients. Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver end-to-end product capabilities across frontend applications, backend services, and AI-powered integrations.
• Design and implement intelligent workflows that support planning, tool orchestration, error handling, and recovery across multi-step processes.
• Integrate large language models, memory frameworks, and third-party systems into scalable production applications.
• Build real-time user experiences that support streaming outputs, incremental responses, and low-latency interactions.
• Improve platform reliability through monitoring, observability, fault tolerance, and resiliency strategies.
• Collaborate closely with product, machine learning, and engineering teams to deliver features from concept through production.
• Analyze user behavior, production performance, and system outcomes to continuously improve workflow effectiveness.
• Establish reusable patterns and frameworks for building dependable AI-enabled products.

Required Skills

• Strong full stack engineering experience spanning modern frontend and backend technologies.
• Expertise in application architecture, distributed systems, and API design.
• Experience developing applications that leverage large language models, retrieval systems, or other AI-driven technologies.
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and backend service development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of containerization and cloud-native infrastructure, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and make practical engineering decisions.
• Demonstrated ownership and experience delivering solutions from initial concept through production deployment.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Next.js, Node.js, and modern web application frameworks.
• Familiarity with PyTorch and machine learning development workflows.
• Exposure to commercial and open-source large language model platforms.
• Experience building resilient AI systems with evaluation, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms.
• Background developing highly interactive, real-time user experiences.
