Electrical Estimator

Job Type: Full-Time direct hire

Job Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)

Job Description:

 Estimators play a key role in driving project success by preparing competitive bids and detailed cost estimates for The client’s electrical construction projects. They analyze drawings and specifications, uncover project requirements, and develop winning strategies that keep costs in check while positioning the team for successful project awards.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate

·         Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and enter into computer estimating system; review computer reports for accuracy and completeness

·         Request quotes from suppliers for materials and equipment

·         Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. Review quotes for completeness with established plans and specifications

·         Itemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages, including subcontract work, equipment rentals, tools, and suppliers

·         Prior to the issuing of formal bid packages, provide principals with a detailed review of scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the estimated bid package

·         Responsible for the timely completion of all client-required documents

·         Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimate figures

·         After the successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes, and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project

Licenses & Certifications

·         Must possess a current state driver's license

·         Applicable federal, state, and local certifications as required by job conditions or by the company

Education

·         High School Graduate or GED

 Software

·         Experience in Accubid software preferred

·         Experience in Live Count preferred, but not required

·         Experience in CAD and/or 3D software preferred, but not required

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)
