Role Overview
As a Google Cloud Platform Cloud Migration Architect, you will lead the end-to-end cloud migration lifecycle, from infrastructure discovery and application dependency mapping to migration execution and operational readiness.
You will prioritize Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) while objectively evaluating AWS and on-premises private cloud environments to determine the most suitable application placement strategies.
The role requires strong architectural expertise, strategic planning capabilities, and hands-on experience in building scalable migration factories and cloud operating models.

Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure and Application Discovery

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of enterprise infrastructure, applications, and workloads to determine migration readiness.
• Analyze infrastructure sizing, storage tiers, licensing requirements, and application dependencies.
• Evaluate application placement options across Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and on-premises private cloud environments.
• Identify optimization opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

 Cloud Foundation and Architecture

• Develop Google Cloud Platform Cloud Foundation Reference Architecture and Best Practices documentation.
• Perform gap analyses of existing cloud foundations and define target-state architecture blueprints.
• Design high-level and detailed application architectures aligned with enterprise requirements.
• Define architectural standards for compute, storage, networking, identity and access management, logging, high availability, and disaster recovery.

Migration Factory and Operating Model

• Design and implement a scalable, wave-based Migration Factory to support enterprise migration initiatives.
• Define migration execution models, including Pod/Squad structures, governance frameworks, and delivery processes.
• Establish automated migration approaches for virtual machines and containerized workloads.
• Develop migration roadmaps, execution plans, and technical documentation to support successful delivery.

Cloud Operations and Financial Governance

• Develop an integrated xOps operating model covering CloudOps, FinOps, and SecOps.
• Define cloud pricing models, estimate high-level runtime costs, and identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Establish operational governance, financial controls, and cloud management best practices.
• Evaluate and incorporate Google's Rapid Assessment and Migration Program (RAMP), where applicable, into migration planning.

DevSecFinOps, CI/CD, and AI-Driven Automation

• Design and implement DevSecFinOps pipelines to automate cloud environment provisioning and deployment.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
• Integrate security, financial governance, and operational controls into CI/CD workflows.
• Implement AI-driven testing frameworks to continuously validate application functionality throughout the migration lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of enterprise experience in software engineering, technology delivery leadership, and global cloud infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform services, including Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud SQL, and Spanner.
• Practical experience in multi-cloud architecture and application placement assessments across AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development.
• Experience designing and implementing DevSecFinOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with AI-driven testing frameworks and automated application validation.
• Proven ability to develop migration roadmaps, target-state architectures, and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or other relevant multi-cloud certifications.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale cloud migration programs and establishing migration factories.
