Lead Software Engineer

Job Description

The Lead Software Engineer at 10 Fitness is a hands-on technical leader responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the software systems serving 10 Fitness and 365 Member Access. This position partners with the CIO, leads and develops engineering team members, and helps ensure that critical software systems remain reliable, secure, and effective.

Job Duties:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain company software, cloud services, and applications.
• Lead the continued development and support of the 365 Member Access platform, including member access systems, Android kiosks, connected hardware, and third-party integrations.
• Oversee production system reliability and security, including monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, and recovery procedures.
• Establish and follow sound engineering practices for code quality, testing, documentation, source control, and deployment.
• Plan and execute assigned projects in collaboration with the CIO; communicate progress, timelines, risks, and obstacles in a timely manner.
• Maintain technical documentation and participate in the on-call support rotation as required.

Management:

• Lead, coach, and mentor software engineering team members while remaining actively involved in technical work.
• Assign and monitor work, provide technical guidance and code reviews, and promote cross-training and knowledge sharing.
• Set clear expectations, hold team members accountable, and model the 10 Fitness core values and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Approximately 7 or more years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated expertise, including technical leadership or mentoring experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js; experience with cloud-based applications and AWS or a comparable platform.
• Experience with APIs, third-party integrations, automated testing, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and secure development practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and project-management skills.
• Experience with Android development, kiosk or hardware-integrated systems, and event-driven architectures preferred.

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and communicate effectively in person and in writing.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving of equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

• Office-based in Maumelle, Arkansas; occasional travel, work with kiosk or access-control equipment, and participation in an on-call rotation may be required.

The pay range for this role is:
115,000 - 145,000 USD per year(US)
