Job Description

Technical Product Owner – Regulatory Data & Enterprise Reporting

Duration: Through the end of the year, with potential extensions or conversion to full-time

Location: Remote (Must work EST hours)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to support a large-scale enterprise data transformation initiative focused on regulatory and SEC reporting.

This individual will serve as the functional owner of complex data initiatives, partnering with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, QA, and downstream reporting teams to deliver high-quality, trusted data across the enterprise.

This is not a traditional Product Owner role focused solely on Agile delivery. The successful candidate will own enterprise data requirements from intake through delivery, lead source-to-target mapping initiatives, and ensure data is accurate, governed, and ready for downstream reporting platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Product Owner for enterprise data-sourcing initiatives supporting the Unified Conformed Layer (UCL).

• Own and prioritize the product backlog while balancing regulatory, business, and delivery priorities.

• Lead requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and downstream consumers.

• Translate complex reporting needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.

• Lead source-to-target mapping activities, including identifying Authoritative Data Sources (ADRS), aligning Systems of Record (SOR), and defining joins, filters, transformation logic, and attribute-level mappings.

• Partner with data architects, engineers, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise data products successfully.

• Facilitate mapping reviews, data-governance discussions, and alignment across business and technical teams.

• Support Snowflake-based data sourcing and ingestion initiatives while ensuring data quality, lineage, reconciliation, and governance.

• Define and support testing strategies focused on data completeness, accuracy, reconciliation, and defect resolution.

• Investigate data issues using SQL, data profiling, and lineage documentation. Work with technical teams to determine whether issues originate from source data, mapping, business requirements, or implementation.

• Manage delivery risks, dependencies, and cross-team coordination while maintaining clear stakeholder communication.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience as a Product Owner, Lead Business Analyst, or Enterprise Data Product Owner within an enterprise data environment.

• Strong experience supporting banking or financial-services data platforms.

• Demonstrated experience with regulatory reporting initiatives, such as SEC, CCAR, Basel, Axiom, Workiva, FR Y-14, FR Y-9C, or similar.

• Proven ownership of source-to-target mapping, including transformation logic, business rules, and authoritative data-source selection.

• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, data lineage, data quality, reconciliation, and downstream reporting.

• Experience working with Snowflake or another enterprise cloud data platform. Hands-on development experience is not required.

• Ability to analyze data using SQL and collaborate with engineering teams to investigate data-quality and lineage issues.

• Experience leading Agile ceremonies, managing backlogs, planning sprints, and communicating with stakeholders.
