Job Description

Everpure, Inc. seeks a Sr. SSD Firmware Architect to design and optimize high performance, reliable SSD firmware for data intensive, cloud scale environments. You'll define architecture, lead low level embedded development, and drive performance, latency, and endurance improvements across NAND flash subsystems. Partner with data and platform teams to integrate storage solutions powering analytics and AI workloads. Mentor engineers, lead code and design reviews, and guide best practices for reliability, testing, and observability in production systems within a collaborative, learning focused culture.

Responsibilities

  • Design and own architecture for high-performance, reliable SSD firmware used in data and analytics platforms.
  • Develop and review embedded C/C++ firmware for NAND flash management, error handling, and performance optimization.
  • Define and implement strategies for latency, throughput, endurance, and power optimization in SSD solutions.
  • Collaborate with data platform and infrastructure teams to integrate storage solutions into cloud-scale analytics environments.
  • Establish best practices for testing, observability, debugging, and release of production firmware.
  • Mentor and guide engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
  • Profile and troubleshoot performance issues using hardware and firmware-level tools.
  • Produce clear technical documentation for architecture, design decisions, and interfaces.

Required Skills

  • SSD firmware design
  • Embedded C/C++ programming
  • NAND flash management (FTL, wear leveling, garbage collection)
  • Real-time and embedded operating systems
  • Storage protocols (NVMe, SATA, PCIe)
  • Performance tuning and profiling
  • System architecture for storage systems
  • Unit, integration, and system testing for firmware
  • Debugging with hardware/firmware tools (JTAG, logic analyzers)
  • Technical leadership and architecture documentation
