Full Stack Developer - TS/SCI and CI poly Clearance (Hybrid) with Security Clearance

Full Stack Developer Hybrid – Arlington, VA U.S. Citizenship and TS/SCI and CI poly required @Orchard is retained by a top geospatial technology company in their search for an Full Stack Developer to work in their Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. The Full Stack Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and APIs using Java and Python programming languages. This role often involves a combination of backend development, API integration, and sometimes includes aspects of cloud-based solutions. Hybrid role – 80% remote; 20% onsite in Arlington, VA.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable applications and APIs using Java and Python. This includes writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• API Design and Integration: Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring secure and efficient communication between different systems and applications. This also involves integrating third-party APIs and services.
• Database Management: Work with various database systems (e.g., SQL and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL) for data storage and retrieval.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams, to define requirements, integrate components, and ensure seamless functionality.
• Performance Optimization and Security: Optimize code and system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to security best practices in data handling and API authentication.
• Cloud Integration (Optional): If applicable, implement and integrate cloud services and APIs (e.g., AWS, Azure) for cloud-native solutions and deployments.
• Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancements for existing applications and APIs.

Skills & Qualifications • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of experience for mid-level and 8+ years for senior • Security Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly and U.S.

Citizenship is required • Proficiency in Java and/or Python programming languages and associated frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Flask, Django). • Strong understanding of API architectural styles (e.g., REST, GraphQL, SOAP) and experience with API development tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger UI). • Familiarity with database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL). • Experience with version control systems like Git. • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum). • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

For pay transparency the range of base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $116,000.00 - $154,000.00 - $169,400.00 annually, based on experience.
