Performance Test Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Performance Test Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in performance and load testing. The candidate should be capable of designing performance test strategies, creating test scripts, executing different types of performance tests, analyzing results, and identifying application bottlenecks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop performance test plans, scenarios, and scripts based on business requirements.

• Create and maintain performance scripts using JMeter / LoadRunner / Gatling.

• Execute Load, Stress, Endurance/Soak, Spike, and Scalability testing.

• Analyze response time, throughput, TPS, error rates, and resource utilization.

• Identify performance bottlenecks across application, database, API, and infrastructure layers.

• Work with developers, DevOps, DBA, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot performance issues.

• Monitor application and server performance using tools such as Grafana, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, or similar tools.

• Perform API performance testing for REST/SOAP APIs.

• Generate performance test reports and present findings to stakeholders.

• Participate in performance tuning and optimization activities.

• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines where required.

• Maintain performance test scripts, test data, and execution documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Performance Testing.

• Strong hands-on experience with JMeter or LoadRunner.

• Good knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, JSON, XML, TCP/IP, and web architecture.

• Experience with SQL and database performance analysis.

• Understanding of Linux/Unix commands and server monitoring.

• Experience with Dynatrace/AppDynamics/Grafana/Splunk or similar monitoring tools.

• Knowledge of Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins/GitLab/Azure DevOps.

• Strong understanding of performance metrics and bottleneck analysis.

• Good communication and analytical skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform environments.

• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes.

• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.

• Scripting knowledge in Java, JavaScript, Python, or Groovy.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
