Site Lead / Operations Lead

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced onsite leader to manage daily operations for a participant-based technology and data collection program. The Site Lead will supervise moderators and data collection specialists, coordinate staffing and workflow, protect process and data quality, track performance, and serve as the primary onsite escalation point. The role is designed for a practical operations leader who can balance people management, client-ready communication, and disciplined execution.

What You Will Do

Operational Leadership

·        Oversee daily site operations, staffing coverage, work assignments, participant flow, and opening and closing readiness.

·        Coordinate priorities across the onsite team and adjust resources to support scheduled demand and completion targets.

·        Ensure required equipment, materials, workspaces, and operating controls are available and functioning.

People Leadership

·        Supervise, coach, and support onsite moderators and data collection specialists.

·        Lead daily briefings, shift handovers, and performance discussions.

·        Monitor attendance, productivity, quality, conduct, and training readiness; address gaps promptly and consistently.

Performance, Quality, and Improvement

·        Track completion volume, schedule adherence, data quality, productivity, and other agreed operating measures.

·        Review trends, identify constraints, and implement practical improvements that strengthen participant experience and operational performance.

·        Ensure work is completed in accordance with documented procedures, privacy requirements, security controls, and workplace safety practices.

Issue Management and Reporting

·        Serve as the first onsite escalation point for participants, staffing, process, equipment, or facility issues.

·        Coordinate resolution with the appropriate support teams and maintain ownership through closure.

·        Prepare concise daily and weekly performance updates, action logs, incident records, and risk summaries for program stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

·        Bachelor degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

·        At least three years of experience in operations leadership, team supervision, site coordination, field operations, or program delivery.

·        Demonstrated experience supervising employees in a customer-facing, service, research-support, or operational environment.

·        Experience creating schedules, assigning work, balancing workloads, and responding to changing priorities.

·        Strong reporting, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

·        Proficiency with standard office productivity, spreadsheet, presentation, and collaboration tools.

·        Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide concise status updates to stakeholders.

·        Ability to work onsite in San Diego and accommodate schedule flexibility when program needs require it.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience in research operations, field operations, healthcare operations, event operations, customer operations, or technology-enabled programs.

·        Experience managing operational metrics, dashboards, quality controls, and corrective action plans.

·        Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.

·        Experience supporting enterprise clients or cross-functional stakeholders.

·        Project management, process improvement, or operational excellence training or certification.

·        Current first aid or CPR certification.

What Success Looks Like

·        The site opens ready for work, runs safely, and consistently meets schedule, quality, and completion expectations.

·        Team members receive clear direction, timely coaching, and the support needed to perform effectively.

·        Operational risks and issues are visible, documented, escalated appropriately, and driven to resolution.

·        Reporting is accurate, concise, and useful for decision-making.

·        Participants and stakeholders experience a professional, organized, and responsive onsite operation.
