Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Developer / Database Engineer with extensive experience designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise-scale PostgreSQL database solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database architecture, performance tuning, data integration, and cloud-native database platforms.

Database Design and Data Modeling: Logical and physical data modeling, normalization and denormalization, entity relationship modeling, partitioning strategies, and scalable schema design.

SQL Development and Query Optimization: Complex SQL, PL/pgSQL, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, views, materialized views, and execution plan analysis.

Performance Tuning and Indexing: B-Tree, Hash, GIN, GiST, BRIN indexes, VACUUM optimization, statistics management, memory tuning, and performance troubleshooting.

High Availability, Replication, and Scalability: Streaming replication, logical replication, failover, disaster recovery, read replicas, backup and recovery, horizontal and vertical scaling.

PostgreSQL Tooling: pgAdmin, psql, pg_dump, pg_restore, monitoring tools, WAL management, migration utilities.

Data Quality and Governance: Metadata management, lineage, profiling, validation, reconciliation, and lifecycle management.

ETL / ELT: Kafka, CDC, batch and real-time pipelines, integration frameworks, and event-driven architectures.

Programming and Application Development: Python, Java, SQL, Bash, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes.

Cloud Technologies: AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Google Cloud SQL, Terraform, CI/CD.

Data Security: RBAC, encryption at rest and in transit, auditing, compliance, PHI, PII, PCI protection.

Highly Desired: Healthcare experience, database migrations, DevOps automation, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Ansible.

Soft Skills: Problem solving, communication, stakeholder engagement, leadership, accountability, and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years PostgreSQL experience; enterprise-scale database environments preferred.
