The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates has been retained by a premier industry partner to secure a high-caliber technical authority for a long-term initiative. Operating in a full-time remote capacity within the United States, this contract engagement offers an experienced specialist the chance to transform perimeter defenses, optimize cloud connectivity, and elevate enterprise security architecture. In this mandate, you will serve as a lead subject matter expert, steering critical infrastructure strategy while developing the capabilities of rising engineering talent.

What You’ll Do

• Architect, deploy, and manage robust Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewall frameworks across enterprise environments.

• Build and govern granular rule sets to ensure strict network segmentation, access enforcement, and policy compliance.

• Engineer resilient Azure cloud network solutions, integrating virtual network gateways and cloud-native security controls.

• Collaborate with executive IT leaders, cross-functional teams, and engineering peers to formulate and execute complex technical strategies.

• Partner with external vendors and internal groups to research, evaluate, and roll out next-generation network defense platforms.

• Mentor associate engineers by auditing proposals, validating documentation, and providing constructive feedback on proposed system changes.

• Analyze complex routing architectures and network traffic flows using Virtual Gateway Protocol standards to enhance security performance.

• Champion internal risk controls, regulatory standards, and governance policies, escalating potential security vulnerabilities when necessary.

• Maintain advanced mastery of vendor breakthroughs, evolving network protocols, and infrastructure best practices.

What You Bring

• Eight Plus Years Of Combined Education And Professional Experience In Systems Design, Engineering, Or Infrastructure Architecture

• Checkpoint Firewall (Preferred) Or Palo Alto Enterprise Firewalls

• Firewall Rule Engineering, Network Segmentation, And Access Control Policy Management

• Azure Networking, Virtual Network Gateways, And Cloud Security Technologies

• Advanced Routing Protocols And Virtual Gateway Protocol (VGP)

• Regulated Industry Background (Banking, Healthcare, Or Defense)

• Technical Solutioning For Complex Enterprise Requirements

• Cross-Functional Communication And Engineering Mentorship

• CISSP Certification, Checkpoint Certification, Or Aviatrix Certification (Bonus)

Compensation & Total Rewards

• Baseline Compensation Rate: $80.00 – $88.00 / hour (W-2).
