Full Stack Java Developer (+ TypeScript) | Spring Boot, React & AWS

Are you a Full Stack Developer with strong Java expertise and solid TypeScript experience? This is an opportunity to support a global consultancy on a public sector project, contributing to the delivery of reliable, maintainable software solutions within a modern, cloud-native environment.

Key Details

  • Contract: 12 months initially, with extensions
  • Working Arrangement: Fully remote
  • IR35 Status: Inside IR35
  • Sector: Public Sector
  • Active SC Clearance Required

Project Environment

you'll be joining a project built on a modern full-stack technology set, including:

  • Backend: Java, Spring Boot
  • Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript
  • Cloud: AWS (including Lambda)
  • Wider engineering: API development, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain Back End services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Apply strong TypeScript expertise across Front End development and serverless functionality.
  • Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces using React and Next.js.
  • Develop and maintain AWS Lambda functions as part of a wider cloud-based architecture.
  • Build and integrate APIs and microservices.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments.
  • Apply good coding practices and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Work collaboratively with technical colleagues across the stack to support project objectives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong commercial experience with TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience with React and/or Next.js.
  • Experience working with AWS, ideally including Lambda.
  • Experience developing APIs and working within microservices architectures.
  • Senior-level software development experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to code quality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a development team.

Desirable Skills

  • Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).
