Job description

Full Stack Engineer - 3 months (Rolling Quarterly Extensions) - Hybrid in London

A Full Stack Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable Front End and Back End applications for web and mobile platforms. The role focuses on Java/Python and Spring Boot services paired with React front-ends, with exposure to Generative AI and LLM integration a strong advantage. The successful candidate will work closely with designers, product managers and fellow engineers to deliver user-friendly, high-performance software. There are 2 positions available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scalable Front End and Back End applications for web and mobile platforms.
  • Build RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration between Front End and Back End systems.
  • Write clean, efficient, maintainable code, adhering to software development best practices and design patterns.
  • Test, troubleshoot, debug and optimise new and existing systems for performance and scalability.
  • Partner with designers, product managers and engineers, and take part in code reviews to maintain quality standards.

Skills needed:

  • Backend development: Strong Java or Python skills with Spring and Spring Boot, including MVC architecture, design patterns and dependency injection.
  • Frontend development: Strong HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript (ES6+), with hands-on React JS and state management (React Hooks, Redux, Context or NgRx); experience building responsive, cross-browser compatible applications.
  • APIs and security: Proven experience developing RESTful APIs, with authentication and authorisation using JWT and OAuth2.
  • Databases: Hands-on SQL with MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle, including complex queries, joins, indexing and query optimisation; NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) desirable.
  • Modern engineering and AI exposure: Microservices and messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ), cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and testing (JUnit, Mockito, Jest, Cypress or Playwright) are desirable; experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Bedrock), including RAG solutions, Spring AI or LangChain, is also desirable.

Contract Details:

  • Rate: £425 per day [Inside IR35 )
  • Location: Hybrid in London (3x a week)
  • Duration: 3 months Initial, with quarterly extensions
