Field Service Engineer / Technician, level I, Local-SFS1

Your day-to-day
As a Service Technician, it is your mission to support the sustainable profitable growth of the company through exceptional customer service, with a focus on safety, operational efficiency, quality, team development, collaboration, and customer satisfaction. The mission is to develop your skills with various pump technologies as well as supporting the team's performance.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds API 610 pumps by disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, warping, or other defects with the use of inspection tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
• Installs pumps onto base plates and assemble motors, manifolds and tubing as required.
• Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds pumps by disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, warping, or other defects with the use of inspection tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
• Prepares and paints new and rebuilt equipment per company procedures.
• Prepares repair reports and field service reports by collecting, documenting, and analyzing pump and customer information.
• Verifies quality and pump performance by conducting shop run tests, recording test data, and maintaining accurate performance and test records on repaired pumps.
• Maintains parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level and recording the use of all parts used in the repair of a pump.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and on-the- job training sessions.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, good manufacturing practices, customer requirements, and local and federal regulations.
• Share technical knowledge, traveling to customer sites including offshore and foreign countries, and assisting with troubleshooting, repairs, and start-ups.
• Anticipates and understand needs of customer

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your skills and experience
Experience:

• 2+ years of industrial pump service and repair experience (multi-stage centrifugal pumps, or similar equipment), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to perform repairs independently.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Certifications/Licenses:

• Forklift certification
• Crane certification
• Valid Driver's License
• Current U.S. Passport
• Technical Training Certifications related to Pump technology.

Computer Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Email communications (Outlook), and ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• SAP is a plus

Language & Reasoning Ability:

• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to work through problems from both a technical and customer requirement perspective.

Other Skills:

• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair pumps and related mechanical equipment.
• Experience performing equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs.
• Ability to identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend repair solutions.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
• Experience operating machine shop equipment, including lathes, drill presses, and related machinery.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.

Travel:

• Travel to Germany for job related training for a minimum of six weeks.
• Ability to travel for field service assignments when necessary, including weekends and holidays (40%).

Your location
You will be part of our customer center in Houston, Texas on Greens Road. You join a field service team that works close to our customers, where approximately 50% of your time is spent traveling to customer sites after training is complete.
