Role overview

Provide overall technical leadership for the AWS migration. Define the target architecture, migration patterns, and standards, ensuring application, infrastructure, security, and operational requirements are addressed throughout delivery.

Experience

12+ years in enterprise architecture and software engineering; 8+ years designing and implementing cloud-based solutions.

• Required qualifications
• Demonstrated leadership of large-scale cloud migration and modernization programs.
• Deep expertise in AWS, cloud-native architecture, infrastructure automation, resiliency, security, and disaster recovery.
• Experience in highly regulated financial services environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication with senior technology and business leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Define and govern the target-state architecture and lead current-state application and infrastructure assessments.
• Establish migration strategy, architectural standards, patterns, and guardrails aligned with banking client requirements.
• Provide design leadership across landing zones, EKS, networking, identity, data platforms, messaging, and service integrations.
• Validate application re-engineering, dependency modernization, container, repository, and CI/CD transformation approaches with specialist leads.
• Oversee architectural dependencies for data synchronization, parallel processing, HA/DR, testing, and production cutover.
• Identify architectural, security, and operational risks and drive decisions with accountable stakeholders.
• Support architecture and security reviews, approval documentation, governance forums, and executive decisions.
• Provide technical oversight through migration, stabilization, and approved legacy decommissioning.

Expected deliverables

• Approved target architecture and migration strategy.
• Architecture patterns, design decisions, risk treatments, and governance evidence.
• Technical readiness criteria and architecture oversight of migration/cutover.

Desired qualifications

• Experience leading migration between separately governed AWS environments or acquisition integration programs.
• Experience governing landing zones, EKS, identity, networking, data, resilience, and application modernization as an integrated architecture.
• Ability to guide architecture approvals, recovery design, migration sequencing, and executive technical decisions.

Preferred certifications

• One or more of the following certifications is desirable. Certifications are preferred, not mandatory, and do not replace demonstrated hands-on experience.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.
• AWS Certified Security Specialty.
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty.
