Data Cloud Engineer with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Cloud Engineer to support a company focused on Department of Defense cloud modernization and enterprise data transformation initiatives. This position is fully remote. The Data Cloud Engineer will design, develop, and optimize secure, scalable cloud-based data solutions across Azure and AWS environments. Join a mission-critical program that enables advanced analytics and decision-making capabilities supporting national defense objectives. Responsibilities for the Data Cloud Engineer include:

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing Azure and AWS technologies
• Build and optimize large-scale data transformation solutions using PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, and SQL
• Develop data ingestion frameworks supporting structured and unstructured data sources, including APIs, databases, JSON, and flat files
• Implement data governance, security controls, RBAC, data quality standards, and Change Data Capture (CDC) processes
• Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, DevOps, and software engineering teams to support enterprise modernization efforts and maintain production data environments

Required Qualifications for the Data Cloud Engineer include:

• 10+ years of experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale data engineering and cloud data solutions
• Strong expertise with PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and/or AWS Glue
• Experience developing cloud-native ETL/ELT pipelines, implementing CDC frameworks, and supporting data governance and security requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field
• Active Secret Clearance
