Overview

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to help measure and improve developer experience and software delivery performance across the IT organization. This individual will combine data from multiple sources, develop clear dashboards, and translate engineering metrics into actionable insights for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

The role partners with engineers, managers, directors, and product owners to identify delivery bottlenecks, recommend improvements, and help shape processes in a developing area of focus. Responsibilities include hands-on configuration of engineering analytics tools, analysis of team-owned applications, developer documentation, and support for tool adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain software delivery performance metrics using engineering analytics platforms and dashboards.

• Analyze DORA metrics, cycle time, pull request throughput, and other engineering KPIs to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.

• Combine data from multiple sources into dashboards that communicate insights clearly to engineering teams and nontechnical stakeholders.

• Configure the LinearB metrics platform and work with its Jira and Bitbucket integrations to support measurement and reporting.

• Establish analytics and feedback loops to measure and improve developer experience. Collaborate with engineering leadership to define success metrics and reporting cadences.

• Analyze team-owned applications, including MuleSoft, Amplify, and Backstage, to inform decisions about application enhancements.

• Support engineering teams in building and maintaining intuitive self-service tools for infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD setup, software development, and environment management.

• Create and maintain developer documentation and onboarding guides.

• Support team training and tool demonstrations, explaining engineering metrics and how tools and processes can improve them.

• Communicate findings, share recommendations, and contribute solutions across engineering and leadership teams.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience relevant to the responsibilities of this role.

• Strong understanding of software development, the developer journey, and software delivery performance metrics.

• Ability to analyze data from multiple sources and create dashboards that communicate meaningful insights to technical and nontechnical audiences.

• Experience with engineering analytics platforms such as LinearB, Jellyfish, Haystack, or comparable tools.

• Experience with internal developer platforms such as Backstage or comparable platforms.

• Familiarity with developer tooling ecosystems, including integrated development environments, Git and source control workflows, and CI/CD.

• Ability to measure and improve developer productivity using telemetry and feedback.

• Strong product thinking and an understanding of developer needs and workflows.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical challenges and confidently present recommendations.

• Comfort helping define and improve processes in an evolving area of the organization.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience configuring and analyzing SaaS platforms.

Transferable tool experience

• Experience with comparable CI/CD, source control, and analytics tools is transferable. Prior experience with every named product is not required; the emphasis is on understanding developer workflows, interpreting engineering metrics, and communicating useful recommendations.
