Job Description

Google AI Architect Remote
Role summary
This role architects and delivers secure, scalable Google Cloud Platform solutions for a global network infrastructure and connectivity provider. Sitting within the cloud engineering and platform team, the architect partners with product, security, and delivery stakeholders to translate business requirements into resilient, cost-optimized Google Cloud Platform designs. Success in the first 90 days means completing an architecture assessment of at least two priority workloads and establishing Google Cloud Platform landing zone standards adopted by delivery teams.
Key responsibilities
  • Design and deploy scalable, secure, and highly available solutions on Google Cloud Platform across compute, storage, networking, and data services
  • Define and maintain enterprise cloud architecture standards, landing zones, and reference patterns for Google Cloud Platform adoption
  • Lead technical design sessions with product owners and engineering teams to translate business requirements into cloud architecture blueprints
  • Guide migration and modernization of workloads onto Google Cloud Platform, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, and IAM configurations
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration management across Google Cloud Platform environments
  • Partner with security teams to enforce IAM, network security, and compliance controls across cloud environments
  • Advise stakeholders on cost optimization, governance, and best practices to maximize Google Cloud Platform platform effectiveness
  • Mentor engineers and evangelize cloud architecture best practices across delivery teams
Required qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, or systems engineering, with a focus on cloud platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Hands-on experience architecting and deploying production workloads on Google Cloud Platform
  • Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and cloud automation practices
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and IAM best practices
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days
