Hardware Config Engineer

Location: London, Greenford

Rate: £165 per day, inside IR35

Duration: 3 month initial contract

Overview: We are seeking a hands-on IT Engineer to work on the configuration of end-user devices including: Desktops, Laptops, Mobile Devices etc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring devices are built, configured, tested and ready for deployment, supporting hardware refresh activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, build and prepare laptops, desktops and mobile devices ready for deployment.
• Install operating systems, applications and security updates.
• Image and re-image devices in line with company standards.
• Perform device testing and quality assurance checks prior to deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues.
• Wipe and decommission Legacy equipment in accordance with company procedures.
• Apply and maintain asset tags and ensure accurate asset records are maintained.
• Configure and support mobile devices, including iPhones and iPads.
• Manage device stock, accessories and deployment equipment.
• Package and prepare devices for shipment or on-site deployment.
• Escalate technical issues where required and work closely with wider IT teams.
• Maintain a clean, organised and secure configuration environment.
