Job Description

Trainee Mechanical Engineer
?? Cannock
?? Starting Pay: £12.71 per hour (with regular increases as skills and responsibilities develop)
? Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:30
?? Agency role leading to long-term opportunity

Are you mechanically minded? Do you enjoy repairing cars, taking machinery apart, fixing equipment, or understanding how things work?

We are recruiting for Trainee Mechanical Engineers to join a specialist engineering business based in Cannock. The company operates within a niche industrial technology sector, manufacturing, repairing, maintaining and installing highly specialised equipment for customers across the UK and beyond. The business is well established and provides installation, maintenance, repair and upgrade services within the induction heating and furnace industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop a long-term engineering career. Full training will be provided, but applicants should have a genuine interest in mechanics and engineering.

What We're Looking For
  • A strong interest in mechanical engineering
  • Experience repairing cars, motorcycles, machinery, bicycles or similar equipment would be advantageous
  • Someone who enjoys taking things apart and understanding how they work
  • Practical hands-on skills and a willingness to learn
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Reliable and committed attitude
  • Driving licence desirable but not essential, as occasional work may be carried out at customer sites
Duties Include
  • Assisting with the manufacture and refurbishment of specialist mechanical equipment
  • Supporting installation, maintenance and repair projects
  • Using hand and power tools
  • Fault finding and problem solving
  • Working alongside experienced engineers to develop technical skills
  • Occasional travel to customer locations to support site-based work
