Job description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Golang Engineer to develop, maintain and troubleshoot secure Go-based microservices within a modern cloud-native environment.

The successful candidate will have strong experience with Go, REST APIs, microservices, containerisation, Kubernetes and Helm, along with a solid understanding of secure coding, Agile development and continuous delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and troubleshoot secure Go microservices.
Design and integrate REST APIs within microservices-based architectures.
Work with containerisation technologies and cloud-native platforms.
Deploy and manage applications using Kubernetes and Helm.
Follow secure coding and software development best practices.
Contribute to code management, Agile development and continuous delivery processes.
Troubleshoot application and deployment issues.
Work collaboratively with engineering teams while also managing tasks independently.
Analyse technical issues and develop effective solutions.
Support continuous improvement of application development and deployment practices.

Required Experience & Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Golang / Go.
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting secure Go microservices.
Strong understanding of REST APIs.
Experience with microservices architecture.
Experience with containerisation technologies.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
Hands-on experience deploying applications using Helm.
Strong understanding of secure coding practices.
Experience with code management and Agile development practices.
Experience with continuous delivery / CI/CD.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Experience

Experience with Java development.
Familiarity with SQL databases.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
