Job description

Our client, one of the most prestigious hedge funds globally, is looking for a Software Engineer to build data-intensive and AI-enabled products that help fundamental investors generate insights and make investment decisions. Sitting within a product-focused Equities function, the role joins a business-facing team operating at the intersection of engineering, data and investing. You will work directly with Portfolio Managers, Analysts and Data Scientists, owning solutions from concept through to production. The position exists to improve how alternative data is ingested, discovered, analysed and delivered, while automating investment and development workflows. Its impact is measurable through more effective research, faster decision-making, improved efficiency and direct influence on trading decisions and P&L.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools that help investors and Data Scientists discover, analyse and use data more effectively.
  • Design intelligent systems for data onboarding, cataloguing, governance and lifecycle management.
  • Build AI-driven solutions that reduce operational overhead and accelerate development workflows.
  • Partner directly with investment professionals to develop and evaluate commercially relevant ideas.
  • Create scalable, self-service products supporting more than 100 users across the Fundamental Equities platform.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Advanced programming ability in Python
  • Strong computer science fundamentals across data structures, algorithms and system design.
  • Experience building internal platforms, developer tools, automation systems or data-intensive applications.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience working closely with business stakeholders and end users.
