Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst with strong Python scripting, SQL, and data analysis expertise. The ideal candidate will evaluate data sources, develop scripts for data extraction and transformation, validate data quality, and collaborate with database, reporting, and business teams to support accurate and reliable analytics.

This role requires a hands-on analytical professional who can work independently, document data requirements, assess technology risks and controls, and support data onboarding and metric development.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with data subject matter experts, data owners, and cross-functional teams to understand business and data requirements.
Identify, assess, and evaluate potential data sources for analytical use cases.
Profile and document data characteristics, including Volume, Velocity, Variety, Veracity, and Value.
Develop Python scripts to extract, transform, analyze, and validate data from multiple sources.
Use Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, along with regular expressions and Lambda functions, for data manipulation and analysis.
Write SQL queries to retrieve, analyze, reconcile, and validate data.
Assess data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and suitability for business metrics and reporting.
Document requirements for new data sources and enhancements to existing sources.
Collaborate with database teams to onboard data in accordance with technology standards and procedures.
Partner with reporting and visualization teams to support the development and validation of business metrics.
Follow established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) policies and technology controls.
Prepare technical documentation, data specifications, validation evidence, and process documentation.
Manage competing priorities and coordinate deliverables across multiple teams.

Required Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience developing Python scripts for data analysis.
Extensive hands-on experience with Pandas, NumPy, regular expressions (Regex/RE), and Lambda functions.
At least 5 years of professional data analysis experience.
Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and data validation.
At least 5 years of experience collaborating with database and reporting teams.
Working knowledge of technology controls and technology risk concepts.
Intermediate Excel skills, including string manipulation, VLOOKUP, and PivotTables.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Project management or project coordination experience.
Experience using AI-assisted tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot to support data analysis and data validation.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced SQL skills.
Experience with Snowflake.
Familiarity with DevOps concepts and tools.
Experience with Git, GitHub, and code deployment.
Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving business requirements.
