Electrical Protection & Commissioning Technician | Schwandorf, Germany | Hybrid

We're hiring on behalf of a leading energy infrastructure company that is instrumental in the successful transition to renewable energy. This organization plays a critical role in building and modernizing energy substations across Southeastern Germany, contributing directly to climate protection goals.

The Role

• Commission and test electrical equipment for medium, high, and extra-high voltage substations up to 380kV.
• Analyze and resolve faults in protection and control systems, collaborating with expert teams.
• Configure and parameterize high-tech protection and field control devices from leading brands (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, ABB).
• Utilize modern testing equipment from manufacturers like OMICRON for precise commissioning of digital protection and control technology.
• Support the energization of substations, ensuring the flow of green electricity from individual components to complete renewal and new construction projects.
• Contribute to projects involving renewable energy sources (wind, solar), grid connections for industrial clients, and energy transmission and distribution.

What You'll Need

• Completed vocational training in electrical engineering.
• Proven knowledge of protection/control technology; prior experience commissioning switchgear with communication standards (IEC 60870-5-101/103/104) is a plus.
• Familiarity with parameterization software (e.g., Siemens DIGSI 4/5, Schneider MICOM S1) and testing software (e.g., OMICROL Test Universe) is advantageous.
• Strong team player with excellent decision-making and communication skills, including fluent German.
• Valid driver's license (Class B) and willingness to travel as needed (typically Monday-Thursday).
• Ability to represent the company professionally to internal teams and clients.
