Job Description
Our client, the national organisation for nuclear science and technology is focused on leading-edge research, innovative scientific services and providing specialised advice to government, industry, academia and other research organisations. They deliver experimental techniques that not only enhance current fundamental and applied research, but also open up new avenues of investigation for Australian science. Their research facility based in Southern Sydney is seeking a Part Time Technical Writer to support engineering and scientific projects through the preparation, coordination and management of technical and project documentation.
Working closely with scientists, engineers, technical specialists and project managers, you will help ensure projects meet quality, safety, compliance and regulatory requirements while delivering clear and accurate documentation for a range of technical initiatives.
Duties Include:
- Preparing, reviewing and maintaining technical, operational and project documentation.
- Working with stakeholders to capture project requirements, scope, plans and procedures.
- Supporting project teams with documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinating the preparation, revision and issue of controlled documents.
- Assisting with quality, safety and regulatory submissions.
- Ensuring documentation complies with relevant standards, procedures and statutory requirements.
- Translating complex technical information into clear, concise and audience-appropriate documents.
Ideally you will have:
- Australian Citizenship (Essential)
- Degree qualifications in Engineering, Science, Technology or a related STEM discipline.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong verbal communication abilities.
- Experience documenting technical processes, procedures, project plans and outcomes.
- Strong organisational and task management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A high attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.
- The ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This is an excellent part time and long-term contract role within a government research organisation focused on delivering leading-edge research for Australian science.
