Job Description

Please note that this is a 12 Month Contract position and is On-Site. No Corp to Corp or H-1B.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on automation experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience developing vision algorithms.

  • Experience selecting, configuring, and calibrating industrial cameras, lenses, lighting setups, and sensors to build repeatable, high-uptime imaging conditions.

  • Familiarity with factory communication and networking standards such as EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus, or Profibus.

  • Ability to read, create, and modify electrical schematics, I/O lists, and control panel layouts using CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.

  • Mastery of image processing fundamentals, including blob analysis, edge detection, pattern matching, optical character recognition (OCR), and 2D code reading.

  • Proficiency in commercial or industrial software suites such as Cognex VisionPro/In-Sight or Keyence XG-X, alongside open-source libraries such as OpenCV or HALCON.

  • Ability to interface vision inspection outputs with industrial automation controllers, such as Allen-Bradley or Beckhoff, ladder logic, and HMI systems.

  • Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to write technical test procedures, wiring diagrams, and calibration documentation.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Expertise in developing Keyence 2D and 3D measurement analysis algorithms.

  • Strong coding skills in Python, C++, or C# for custom inspection algorithm development and script-based logic.

  • Experience connecting machine data to SCADA, MES, SQL databases, or Power BI for traceability and quality tracking.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Vision Engineer / Electrical professional will support machine inspection and automation development, including industrial vision system configuration, calibration, algorithm development, and integration with industrial automation systems.

Machine Inspection & Automation Development

  • Select, configure, and calibrate industrial cameras, lenses, lighting setups, and sensors to establish repeatable, high-uptime imaging conditions.

  • Work with factory communication and networking standards, including EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus, or Profibus.

  • Read, create, and modify electrical schematics, I/O lists, and control panel layouts using CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.

Algorithm Development

  • Develop image processing solutions using blob analysis, edge detection, pattern matching, OCR, and 2D code reading.

  • Use commercial and industrial vision software, including Cognex VisionPro/In-Sight or Keyence XG-X, and open-source libraries such as OpenCV or HALCON.

  • Integrate vision inspection outputs with industrial automation controllers, ladder logic, and HMI systems.

  • Develop technical test procedures, wiring diagrams, and calibration documentation.

  • Apply analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills to resolve inspection and automation issues.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop custom inspection algorithms and script-based logic using Python, C++, or C#.

  • Connect machine data to SCADA, MES, SQL databases, or Power BI to support traceability and quality tracking.
