Job Description

🚀 Hiring: Python Software Engineer – Financial Forecasting

We are looking for a Python Software Engineer to modernize and enhance a financial accounting and forecasting platform. The ideal candidate will have strong production-grade Python development experience and an interest in financial systems.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of professional Python software development with a Bachelor's degree, OR 1–2 years Python development with an advanced quantitative degree

  • Strong production-grade Python coding experience — not scripting-only

  • Hands-on experience with Git, SQL, Pandas, and unit testing

  • Experience with Pytest/JUnit and automated test coverage

  • Experience with Docker/Podman and Kubernetes

  • Strong shell scripting skills

  • Experience developing scalable, maintainable software in a team environment

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working with Agile development practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Modernize and refactor financial accounting and forecasting applications

  • Develop and enhance forecasting engine capabilities

  • Support critical quarterly production runs and troubleshoot production issues

  • Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability

  • Develop automated unit and integration tests

  • Collaborate across data, APIs, services, and infrastructure

  • Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders on forecasting and scenario-analysis capabilities

  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, documentation, and platform migrations

Preferred:

  • Financial industry experience and business-facing experience

  • Knowledge of fixed income concepts such as duration, convexity, spread, and OAS

  • Understanding of GAAP accounting fundamentals

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field

  • CFA / FRM / CPA or progress toward certification
