Job Description

E-commerce Assistant - Part-Time

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to join our growing e-commerce team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain broad hands-on experience in online retail, with genuine potential to grow into a more senior role as the business expands.

Location: Stevenage

Hours: 20-30 hours per week, Monday-Friday (flexible scheduling available)

Pay: £8.00 per hour

Contract: Part-time, ongoing

Start date: ASAP

What you'll be doing

Initially, your focus will be on order fulfilment, but over time your responsibilities will broaden to include:

  • Picking, packing, and dispatching online orders accurately and efficiently
  • Managing stock organisation and maintaining a tidy workshop
  • Responding to customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally
  • Driving store management, including listings, pricing, and inventory
  • Optimising product listings and advertisements to improve visibility and sales
  • Researching new products, suppliers, and market trends
  • Preparing basic performance reports to support business decisions
  • General administrative support as needed

We don't expect you to master everything on day one. We'll introduce new responsibilities gradually, but we're looking for someone who wants to contribute beyond just fulfilment - someone who has an eye on revenue and growth.

What we're looking for

  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organised
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer skills (spreadsheets, email, web research)
  • A proactive, self-starting attitude
  • A team player who communicates clearly
  • Local to Stevenage with an easy commute to our workshop
  • An interest in e-commerce, marketplaces like eBay or Amazon, or small business operations (bonus, not essential)

What you'll get

  • Real, varied experience across the full e-commerce lifecycle
  • A clear view of how an online retail business operates day to day
  • The opportunity to shape processes and take on more responsibility as we grow
  • A supportive, flexible working environment with genuine scope for progression
