Healthcare IT Business Analyst

Job at a Glance

Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst to help define customer needs in both technical and business contexts and translate them into clear requirements and actionable user stories. This role supports cloud-hosted initiatives within Agile teams and partners closely with stakeholders, developers, and testers to ensure solutions meet business objectives. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning analysis deliverables end-to-end and contributing to scalable, high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and user requirements; validate requirements with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation in Jira/Confluence.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to evaluate options and align on solution approach.
  • Support solution delivery through test planning review, test matrix review, and defect/log analysis.
  • Validate business need for process improvements and proposed solutions; recommend viable approaches.
  • Communicate the “big picture” business direction to delivery teams supporting the work.
  • Contribute to planning and prioritization of business analysis activities; mentor less experienced analysts as needed.

Required Skills

  • 6+ years of IT business analysis experience.
  • Agile Product Owner or Agile Business Analyst experience.
  • Experience supporting cloud-hosted applications.
  • Medicare domain experience.
  • Jira and Confluence experience for backlog management and documentation.
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail and/or ALM).
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills; ability to influence and negotiate solutions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (e.g., additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree).

Preferred Skills

  • Visio, MS Project, or similar tools for process and project documentation.
  • Data mining and analysis using DB2, SQL, and/or related tools.
  • Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, including version control, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP; HIPAA and/or LOMA knowledge).
  • Ability to read and provide feedback on project plans, scope/design documents, and testing artifacts.
  • Background check requirements (including credit check) and U.S. residency requirements may apply depending on assignment needs.
