Location: North Charleston, South Carolina (On-site)
Role Overview
Our organization is seeking experienced and senior Design Engineers for our Payloads organization. This role focuses on the design, integration, and certification of aircraft interiors, including stow bins, crew areas, cargo compartments, and associated systems. You will work within a dynamic environment, engaging with the entire product lifecycle from customer configuration to production support. This position requires collaboration with project engineering, production teams, and management to deliver engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and project leadership within a production system.
• Manage the structural and mechanical aspects of aircraft interior components.
• Interface with suppliers and airline customers to define and implement engineering solutions.
• Validate and demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support product development through production and certification processes.
• Engage in design for manufacturing activities.
• Oversee aircraft cargo compartment and handling system design, integration, and certification.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Structural, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil engineering.
Experience:
Level 3: 3+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification.
Level 4: 5+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification.
A Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
• Experience in aerospace interiors, materials, design criteria, and release processes.
• Experience in program or project management.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
