Business Development Manager

Location: Wirral (Office Based)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a leading national specialist contractor within the construction and safety sector.

This role offers the chance to work within a dynamic and ambitious sales team, taking ownership of an established and mature sales pipeline from day one. You'll also benefit from a share of inbound enquiries, providing strong earning potential, alongside regular company incentives and performance rewards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with new clients, understanding their requirements and presenting tailored solutions.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities, including new markets, partnerships, products and services.
  • Produce accurate sales forecasts and work towards achieving agreed sales targets.
  • Manage sales opportunities and customer accounts using a CRM system.
  • Provide regular sales updates and reports to the Sales Manager.

About You

You'll be a proactive, commercially minded sales professional with excellent relationship-building skills and a passion for winning new business.

You'll also have:

  • A strategic and creative approach to business development.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to understand technical products and recommend suitable solutions based on customer needs.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A self-motivated attitude with the ability to inspire confidence in others.
  • A good understanding of market competition and commercial positioning.
