Job Description

  • Location: Brisbane QLD, Canberra ACT, Melbourne VIC, Adelaide SA
  • 12 months contract + Extension options
  • Must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain a Baseline Clearance
  • Working Arrangements: Hybrid

FinXL is seeking a highly experienced Associate/ Junior Systems Analyst to join a major program of work for a large Federal Government department. You will be contributing to a major enterprise environment that supports critical, large-scale government service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform analysis and evaluation of business processes and requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements that align with relevant architectures.
  • Design, create, evaluate and document ICT solutions in new and existing ICT systems.
  • Write functional specifications from business requirements by engaging business users, development, and testing teams.
  • Conduct testing activities such as test coverage reviews, formal or informal test execution, and test planning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues, solve problems, and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects.
  • Undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications and design documents.
  • Deliver flexible, quality service and products to improve customer experience.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to define and manage scoping, elicit and document detailed requirements, and manage changes to base-lined requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake complete design of moderately complex software applications, applying agreed standards and patterns.
  • Experience in option identification, business case development, and user feedback collection on prototypes.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve problems and make evidence-based recommendations.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Well-developed knowledge of government digital and technology strategy, standards, and business systems.
