Senior Business Analyst - IDAM Australian National University•Canberra, ACT, AU

Classification: ANU Officer 8 (Information Technology)
Salary package: $124,392 - $133,017 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full time, Fixed term (up to 3 years)
Location: Canberra, ACT (remote within Australia considered)

About the Role and the Impact You'll Make

As our Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting a major University-wide identity transformation.

You will act as the bridge between academic stakeholders and technology teams, helping shape and the future technology and operating model.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the University to identify, analyse and document business requirements and use cases.
  • Analyse and map complex technology structures, prerequisites, and business rules into system logic.
  • Lead discovery and ideation workshops to shape innovative solutions aligned with institutional policies.
  • Support program teams from inception to implementation, ensuring solutions align with business goals.
  • Develop detailed process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support testing and quality assurance to ensure solutions meet both functional and compliance needs.
  • Contribute to shaping a consistent and collaborative business analysis practice through the ANU Analysis Chapter.
About You

You are a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst with demonstrated experience delivering results in complex, agile environments. You thrive in collaborative settings and are confident at engaging with diverse user groups, technical teams and senior leaders.

What you bring
  • Extensive experience in business process design, requirements gathering and service improvement.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst in higher education or edtech, with a focus identity and access management, cyber security or complex technology transformation.
  • Knowledge of both Agile and traditional delivery frameworks.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, you can speak the language of both professional staff and specialist identity, architecture and technical teams
  • The ability to operate strategically while providing value-driven outcomes.
  • A passion for improving the student experience through technology.
