Senior Mobile Software Engineer - Healthcare

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Staff Mobile Engineer to lead design and development of high-quality mobile applications that power our diagnostics and healthcare solutions. You will own critical features end to end, architect scalable mobile systems, and ensure performance, security, and reliability for global users. Partner with product, UX, data, and backend teams to deliver patient-centric experiences, guide best practices, mentor engineers, and help shape our mobile technology strategy in a highly collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native and/or cross-platform mobile applications for Abbott's healthcare and diagnostics products
• Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance mobile solutions aligned with product and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and backend/data teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Implement automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices to ensure code quality and reliability
• Optimize app performance, usability, and accessibility across devices and platforms
• Ensure compliance with healthcare, privacy, and security standards where applicable
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting mobile engineering best practices
• Contribute to mobile technology roadmap and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and patterns
