Job Description

Software Quality Assurance Tester

Location: Hybrid at Columbus Ohio
Work Arrangement: Remote with 1 day onsite every 2 weeks
Interview: In-person
Experience: 4 6 years
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Job Description

The Tester will be responsible for test planning, test design, test execution, defect identification, and reporting throughout the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will perform both manual and automated testing and collaborate closely with development, business, and project teams to ensure software quality and successful delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Develop test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.

  • Execute manual and automated software testing.

  • Perform functional, integration, user acceptance, performance, and security testing.

  • Participate in project reviews, demos, Agile/Scrum planning, tasking, goal-setting, and retrospectives.

  • Identify, document, track, and report software defects.

  • Work with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects.

  • Review and analyze business and system requirements to develop appropriate test coverage.

  • Interact with customers and stakeholders to understand system requirements.

  • Provide testing status, results, and defect reports to project teams.

  • Support QA activities throughout the complete project lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, and other cross-functional teams.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and QA practices.

Required Skills
  • 4 6 years of software testing / QA experience.

  • Current knowledge of software testing methodologies and test design techniques.

  • Experience with manual and automated testing.

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Selenium

    • JMeter

    • Postman

    • Azure DevOps

    • Git

  • Working knowledge of C# programming and scripting languages.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience testing cloud-based applications and systems.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Salesforce environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • Experience developing and executing automated test scripts.

  • Experience with API, regression, and performance testing.

Work Arrangement
  • Hybrid position in Ohio.

  • 1 day onsite per pay period (every 2 weeks).

  • The onsite day will be designated by the project and will remain the same throughout the project.

  • Remote for all remaining workdays.

  • In-person interview required.
