Job Description
Production Control Analyst 1st Shift Schedule: Monday-Thursday 6am-3:30pm, Friday 6am-10am Location: 2700 S Custer Ave, Wichita, KS 67217 FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Compiles, analyzes, and leverages data to perform the following:
- Generate and maintain KPIs cross-functionally identified to be valuable to the business
- Provide Operations Team insight and analysis of Production Schedule
- Evaluate workflow and production schedules for efficiency and recommend discrete action to streamline
- Build and maintain Fixed-Asset capacity planning tool - providing insight to company stakeholders
- Define Direct Labor resources needed for current and future Statement of Work
- Periodically evaluate Statement of Work to determine Department-Level throughput plans
- Simulate effects on potential SOW scope changes and evaluate impact to Fixed Asset and Labor resources
- Leverages manufacturing experience to reconcile and assess data-driven outputs
- Serves as a liaison between Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Upper Management
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 3+ years of production control, scheduling, or capacity planning experience within a high-mix, low-volume discrete manufacturing environment.
- Industry Background: Direct experience in the Military, Defense, or Aerospace (A&D) sectors.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Syteline, Microsoft D365, SAP, Oracle, Epicor) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas).
- Data Modeling & Simulation: Advanced ability to compile complex data sets to build, maintain, and optimize Fixed-Asset capacity models and Direct Labor resource tools. Ability to run predictive "what-if" simulations to forecast the operational impact of Statement of Work (SOW) scope changes.
- Production Analytics & KPIs: Strong capability to develop, analyze, and track cross-functional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that provide actionable insights to executive leadership and operations teams.
- Discrete Manufacturing Operations: Deep knowledge of shop-floor workflow efficiency, throughput planning, and discrete manufacturing processes. Ability to identify operational bottlenecks and recommend specific, data-driven corrective actions.
- Regulatory & Quality Frameworks: Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems, Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rated orders, and FAR/DFARS compliance.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to act as a strategic liaison and translate technical data between Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Upper Management.
- Problem-Solving & Agility: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to handle fluctuating SOWs, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines in a highly regulated environment.
- Office & Shop Floor Adaptability: Split-environment role requiring frequent sitting and working with a computer in an office setting, balanced with periodic stints walking and standing on the manufacturing shop floor to work with operations teams. May require occasional lifting while supporting production operations.
- Environmental Exposure: Comfort with working primarily in a climate-controlled office environment with occasional exposure to the cold, heat, and variable noise levels found in a manufacturing environment.
