Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA) to support enterprise database environments across Development, Test, QA, and Production. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, database performance tuning, patching, high availability, production support, and change management.

This role requires someone comfortable working in a 24x7 production support environment, participating in rotational on-call support, troubleshooting critical database issues, driving Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and working closely with development and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate Oracle database patch releases and patching requests from development teams.

• Assess technical constraints, potential issues, dependencies, and timelines for database patch deployments.

• Perform Oracle database patching, upgrades, maintenance, and configuration across Development, Test, QA, and Production environments.

• Manage database changes through established Change Management processes.

• Deploy approved database changes into Production environments.

• Provide 24x7 rotational on-call support for critical database incidents and production issues.

• Troubleshoot database incidents and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

• Identify and implement preventive actions to reduce recurring database issues.

• Participate in weekly operations and database support reviews.

• Perform proactive Oracle database monitoring, health checks, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

• Perform database performance tuning, SQL/query optimization, and PL/SQL optimization.

• Analyze database performance issues and recommend improvements for scalability and reliability.

• Design, implement, and support High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.

• Provide hands-on administration and support for Oracle RAC environments.

• Implement and support Oracle Data Guard, including Physical and Logical Standby databases.

• Support hot standby databases and other database availability solutions.

• Work with application development and project teams to design and implement database solutions based on business requirements.

• Participate in enterprise application and database enhancement projects.

• Support database architecture, capacity planning, performance optimization, and production readiness activities.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database support documentation.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience

• Strong experience with Oracle RAC

• Strong experience with Oracle Data Guard

• Experience with Physical and Logical Standby Databases

• Experience supporting High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR)

• Strong experience with Oracle database patching and upgrades

• Strong Oracle performance tuning

• Strong SQL and PL/SQL optimization experience

• Production database administration and troubleshooting

• Experience supporting 24x7 production environments

• Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

• Experience with Change Management and Production deployments

• Experience supporting Development, QA, Test, and Production environments

• Strong database monitoring and issue-resolution skills

• Ability to work with application development and enterprise project teams

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Senior Oracle DBA / Oracle Database Engineer with strong hands-on production experience in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, HA/DR, patching, performance tuning, SQL/PLSQL optimization, and 24x7 database operations.
