Job Overview
A prominent company specializing in automation and advanced technology, based in North Reading, MA, is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer. In this capacity, you will be instrumental in crafting adaptive analytics solutions and data architecture to advance robotics initiatives and refine operations. This opportunity involves deep engagement with large-scale datasets and the development of actionable data models, dashboard solutions, and comprehensive reporting infrastructures that impact organizational strategy.

Position Summary
You will actively collaborate with different business units to gather, process, and assess vast and varied datasets, making certain that accuracy and alignment are upheld across all data systems. Daily responsibilities involve designing and deploying efficient ETL workflows, building and enhancing data dashboards with tools like Tableau, QuickSight, or Power BI, and automating report generation to facilitate strategic, evidence-based choices for teams in engineering, operations, and management. Additional duties include working with product leads to interpret business challenges into analytics requests, managing documentation for data processes, and consistently seeking ways to upgrade analytics quality and reporting capabilities.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven ability to develop, deploy, and support advanced BI platforms and automated dashboarding
  • Extensive command of SQL for manipulating, extracting, and analyzing data
  • Hands-on experience with BI/visualization suites (e.g., Power BI, Amazon QuickSight, Tableau)
  • Skilled in architecting and administering ETL routines
  • Understanding of modern data warehousing systems (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
  • Proficiency in coding, preferably with Python, R, or similar tools
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math) or equivalent professional background
Desired Experience
  • Work history involving industrial, robotics, supply chain, or manufacturing environments
  • Acquaintance with AWS analytics solutions such as Athena, Glue, S3, and Redshift
  • Exposure to data modeling and advanced statistical methods
  • Advanced degree (Master's) or certifications like AWS Certified Data Analytics
Core Activities
Day-to-Day Tasks
  • Fully engaged in technical responsibilities
  • Architect and implement ETL processes for both structured and unstructured data
  • Design, support, and optimize dashboards and analytics for strategic and operational teams
  • Write sophisticated SQL scripts and conduct targeted analyses
  • Work closely with engineers to streamline analytic reporting and automation
  • Define critical KPIs, monitor data validity, and deliver actionable insights
  • Contribute to data stewardship and maintenance of analytics documentation
