Our client offers innovative solutions to a ranging client base including Retail, Packaging, FMCG and General Merchandise.

My client are looking for a proactive, commercially minded Asset Manager to join their Operations team and play a key role in reducing asset losses, improving asset recovery and strengthening relationships with customers and partners across the UK and Ireland.

If you enjoy solving problems, analysing data, building relationships and making a measurable difference to business performance, this could be the opportunity for you.

As Asset Manager, you will take ownership of asset recovery and loss reduction within your designated geographical area. You will work closely with retailers, Collection Points, traders and internal stakeholders to maximise the recovery of all assets, improve compliance and ensure assets remain accounted for.

You will be a key point of contact for external partners, helping them understand their responsibilities and the processes for returning assets. Through regular site visits, investigations and data analysis, you will identify opportunities to improve recovery rates, resolve operational issues and support the delivery of business objectives.

This is a hands-on role combining field-based relationship management with analytical thinking, project delivery and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Recovery and Asset Protection

    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Collection Points, retailers and pallet traders to maximise pallet recovery and minimise losses.
    • Conduct regular site visits to educate existing and new Collection Points, ownership requirements and return procedures.
    • Investigate losses, identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    • Identify and support the recovery of assets circulating outside the official asset pool, taking appropriate action to protect company assets.
    • Work collaboratively with the Collection Service Centre and other stakeholders to improve compliance, remove barriers to recovery and support customer retention and new business opportunities.
    • Lead and deliver assigned recovery projects, ensuring loss locations are thoroughly investigated and improvement actions are implemented and monitored.

Analysis, Reporting and Performance

    • Analyse operational data to identify trends, discrepancies, loss locations and opportunities for performance improvement.
    • Produce accurate, insightful reports that support informed business decisions and effective loss reduction strategies.
    • Achieve agreed KPIs for losses, recovery performance and site visits.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of visits, customer interactions, investigations and project progress within business systems.
    • Identify changes in customer or operational information and ensure relevant stakeholders are informed.
    • Monitor recovery initiatives and report progress, risks and outcomes to the Asset Operations Manager.

About You:

Essential Requirements

    • A background in Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including listening, influencing, negotiation and relationship building.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues, analyse information and implement practical solutions.
    • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan site visits, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
    • A proactive, inquisitive mindset with the confidence to question existing processes and recommend improvements.
    • A customer-focused, commercially aware approach, balancing positive relationships with the need to protect business assets.
    • The ability to analyse data, recognise trends and translate findings into meaningful actions.
    • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the UK and Ireland, including occasional overnight stays and flexibility for stock takes outside normal working hours.

Desirable Experience and Knowledge

    • Experience within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
    • Experience using CRM systems and Power BI.
    • Previous experience in asset management, stock control, loss prevention or operational improvement.
    • Experience managing projects, conducting investigations and working with multiple stakeholders to achieve operational targets.

Success in this role will be demonstrated through:

    • Reduced asset loss percentages across your area of responsibility.
    • Improved asset recovery rates and Collection Point compliance.
    • Effective investigation and resolution of loss locations.
    • Delivery of assigned recovery projects and agreed KPIs.
    • Accurate, timely reporting and reliable operational data.
    • Strong relationships with retailers, Collection Points and internal stakeholders.
    • Practical ideas and continuous improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs and protect company assets.
